Narcotics and Fuel increase inflation in Sierra Leone

Data presented by Statistics Sierra Leone on the monthly inflation rate has indicated that transportation and narcotics amongst other things highly contributed to increase in inflation for the month July. According to the Deputy Statistician General, Andrew Bob Johnny, the inflation rate for July 2021 stood at 10.50%, with an increase of 0.30% compared to 10.20% in June 2021. 

Sierra Leone CSOs deliberate on social accountability

In a bid to hold policy actors and government accountable for their policies and promises made to the people, the Institute of Governance Reform (IGR) and other Civil Society organizations have concluded a day’s conference on social responsibility with the theme, “Social accountability and COVID-19.”

Speaking at the event, IGR’s Director of Research and Policy, Fredline McCormack Hale, said the conference attracted representatives of civil  societies that came together to discuss about social accountability and its challenges.

Man ‘strangles’ girlfriend to death

One Joseph Gbanie is on trial  at  High Court No.3 in Freetown  presided by Justice Samuel Omodele Taylor on allegations that he strangled his girlfriend to death  some time in March 2020.

New evidence emerge, yesterday 19th August 2021 when then State pathologist, Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma testified in court after being led by State prosecutor, Solomon Christian Kekura.

CSSL capacitates partners with GIS
