WIMSAL calls for Sierra Leone to act on the "Saly Declaration"

The President of Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL), Femi Jarett Coker has called on the government of Sierra Leone to take swift action in the implementation and enforcement of the resolutions contained in the Saly Declaration adopted by government officials, CSOs and media practitioners across West Africa.

Sierra Leone starts mass Covid19 vaccination as “third wave ends”

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Public Health and Head of Surveillance Pillar Dr. Sattie Kenneh, National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre (NaCOVERC) has on 20th August 2021 announced the end of the third wave of the pandemic, noting that the country has been recording single digits and occasionally zero cases in recent times.

Kenema receives W/Africa PowerPool transformers

The Ministry of Energy with funds from DIFAID through the Bo, Kenema electricity rehabilitation and extension project has on 21st August 2021 presented transformer to the Energy distribution Agency (EDSA) and the stakeholders in Kenema for the West Africa Power pool Project powering Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. 

Flood victims blame Bo City Council

Over 50 occupants in 11 houses at Blackie drive, Kandeh town section in Bo, have been affected by torrential rain fall which lasted for several hours in the night of Sunday 22nd August 2021. 

The flood victims mainly students, traders, pastors and civil servants have blamed the situation on the Bo city council over poor drainage system.
