The Police have arrested one Charles Baguay, a National Protected Area Authority (NPAA) guard, with a loaded pistol in Bo, Southern Sierra Leone.

The guard was intercepted on Monday 23^rd August 2021 by police deployed along the Fenton and Mahei Boima Road axis where they had been manning a checkpoint. The Police said that the man was in possession of a ‘fully loaded’ NP Makarov Pistol at around 2 in the morning –the time of his arrest. He was also said to have been dressed in military camouflage.

Sierra Leone’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, with accreditations to Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Venezuela and Cuba, Col. (Rtd) Alhaji Fanday Turay Esq, has on Tuesday, 24^th August 2021 taken formal leave of His President, Julius Maada Bio, to his post.

Lawyer Turay, is said to be experienced working with the UN Disengagement Observer Force in the Golan Heights and briefly served as Chairman for the National Commission for Privatisation in Sierra Leone.

Freetown High Court no. 2 Judge Musu Damba Kamara was left perplexed as to whether an accused robber, Yusuf Bangura facing trial was dead or missing and on Monday 23^rd August 2021, ordered the court Registrar to subpoena a medical doctor at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre to corroborate an officer’s submission that the accused had died in prison.  The judge went to her records and realized that the accused had appeared in court days later from the date the officer gave for his death

One Victoria Precious Libby, a social worker in Moyamba has testified against 16 accused persons standing trial at High Court No. 2 in Freetown for a robbery incident that occurred in Moyamba in 2019.

Libby was led in evidence by State Prosecutors Joseph A.K. Sesay and Solomon Christian Kekura on Tuesday 24^th August 2021.
