Relocation of Sierra Leone's central prison gathers pace

The much -talked about relocation of the Pademba Road Correctional Centre is gathering pace with Internal Affairs Minister, David Panda Noah revealing at the weekly government press conference in Freetown on Thursday 26 August 2021 that, Consultants were already working on the architectural designs for the new prison complex to be built at Songo in the Koya rural district, outside the capital, Freetown.

NRA capacitates staff on ITAS

The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has ended a two-day capacity building programme for it staff on the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) at their regional office in Kenema.

Speaking at the training held on the 24th and 25th August 2021, the Manager of Integrated Tax Administration System, Aminata Eyaminde Mansaray said ITAS is a project brought by the government to help improve on the method of collecting revenue in the country.

Pretrial ends for 4 ‘robbers’

A pre-trial for Musa Kargbo and three others accused of robbery has concluded at the High Court in Freetown. According to evidence from the Magistrate Court on Pademba Road, the four men were said to have stolen monies and properties worth millions of Leones belonging to Sao Kpato Isatta Max-Kyne.
