SOS-CV engages youths on career and unemployment

SOS Children’s Villages has on Friday 24th September this year trained youths on career and unemployment under their YouthCan project at the SOS School Hall in Freetown.

The Children’s Villages International Representative for Lome Cluster, Dr. Amavi Bada recalled that he was part of the youth empowerment session about two years ago and stressed that youths need to change their mindset with regards unemployment and career. He noted that self-reliance should be a key for adults while addressing the youth gathering.

As the Ministry of Finance disburses payment of school fees for the first term of the 2021/2022 academic year in consonance to the Free Quality Education provided by the government, tuition fees payment for 53 Senior Secondary Schools nationwide were withheld pending investigations by the Ministry of Basic and Senior School Education (MBSSE) and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over some irregularities in the data provided by those schools.

Over Le 2 billion approved for NAO

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has approved the sum of 2.69 Billion Leones for the National Authorizing Office (NAO) to continue its activities in 2022. The approval was supported by the Civil Society Organisations present  during the budget hearing after a presentation of the agency’s past activities during the Financial Years 2020 and 2021.
