MDAs present report card

Journalists and civil society activists have been briefed about the deliverables and operations of Ministries, Departments and Agencies at the second annual engagement organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in Bo. Representatives of MDA’s took the podium to present detailed reports of their work for the year 2021, and their plans for subsequent years.

8 bike riders remanded

Magistrate Mark Ngegba has sent eight commercial bike riders on remand at the Correctional Centre in Freetown for riotous conduct on Friday 26th November this year.

The eight accused men were brought to court on five count charges which included conspiracy, riotous conduct, assaulting conduct, intimidation and throwing missiles.

5 in court for assaulting Chief

Four accused persons have appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court in Freetown for allegedly  assaulting and wounding  a local Chief in Waterloo, Alhaji Alimamy Sesay.

M’balu Turay, Alusine Kamara, Mohamed Kamara Turay, Hawanatu Bangura and Brima Sesay were in court on Friday 26th November this year to answer to four count charges of wounding, assault, threatening language and disorderly behaviour.

Parliament sends back Freetown Mayor

The Mayor of Freetown Municipality,  Yvonne Aki Sawyer on Friday, 26th November this year,  appeared before the Public Account Committee (PAC) of Parliament after she was summoned to clarify issues related to the 2019 Auditor General’s Report bordering on the Freetown City Council.

The report indicated that there were projects implemented by other agencies on behalf of the council, but that those agencies cannot be audited because the information required were not available at the time of the audit.

Midterm census set for 10 December

The 10th of December this year has been declared by President Julius Maada Bio as the new date for start of the proposed mid-term Housing and Population Census which according to officials at Statistics Sierra Leone, will last for two weeks.
