Chief Minister Launches National Migration Policy

The Chief Minister, Jacob Jusu Saffa has launched the National Migration Policy. The policy which contains a comprehensive framework to improve and enhance administrative and legislative procedures towards migration’s management in Sierra Leone sets out several prescriptions on how to address some of the issues towards migration governance in the country. 

SLRSA allays fear over Aberdeen Bridge

The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) together with the Ministry of Works and Public Assets has in a press release assured the public of swift action to repair the damage on the Aberdeen Bridge, while assuring that its current state does not pose any risk to the movement of people, and vehicles on the said bridge.

 As a way of improving effective reporting on development issues in Sierra Leone, Journalists across Sierra Leone have on 26th and 27th January 2022 received skills training to enhance their efficiency in reporting.

The two days training session was facilitated by Premier Media Group at SLAJ multi-purpose hall in Freetown with Support from the European Union (EU).

Rising inflation recorded for December

Sierra Leone’s inflation rose to 17.94% in December 2021, from the 15.77 percent recorded in the month of November of the same year, an increase of 2.17 percent. According to Statistics Sierra Leone, the prices of goods and services that increased within the period included clothing and footwear which stood at 1.62 percent. Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels accounted for a 3.37 percent increase.

Saudi Arabia supports Sierra Leone's UN Security Council Bid

Sierra Leone's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has sought support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Sierra Leone's bid for a seat in the United Nations Security Council in the Non-Permanent category for 2024- 2025. According to a report by the Information Attaché at the Embassy Abubakarr Bah.
