The Minister of Information and Communication, Mohamed Rahman Swaray has assured the aggrieved staff of the government Telecommunication Company, Sierratel of swift action from the government in order to resolve their long-standing salary issue.

The irate workers who claimed to have gone for four months without pay approached the minister on Thursday 17^th March 2022, at his Youyi Building office in Freetown to express their grievances and intimate him of another industrial strike action they intend to take.

Sierra Leone’s Foreign Affairs Minister Prof. David Francis has said it was time Africa got a seat on the UN Security Council. The minister who was in Turkey for the Antalya Diplomacy Forum was quoted by the Forum’s communications partner Anadolu Agency as saying regions of the world should support Africa in that direction.

The minister was making his stance known after attending the recording democracy panel discussion of the forum that was hosted by Turkish President Reccep Tayipp Erdogan in the resort city of Antalya.

The British Council Office in Sierra Leone has in a notice stated it will be permanently closing down its ‘physical’ location in the country at 20A A.J Momoh Street, Tower Hill in Freetown from the 1^st April 2022. The Council has been supporting Sierra Leoneans through connections from the United Kingdom (UK) and Sierra Leone in education and culture.

The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning is set to distribute land the size two town lots each to 200 lucky Sierra Leoneans who in a raffle draw  conducted by the ministry last December won themselves the parcels of land. The allocation is to be done today Thursday 17^th March, 2022.
