The United States Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation, (MCC) has assured the Minister of Energy in Sierra Leone of the Corporation’s determination to help advance the development of the country’s first energy-based Compact Programme. This was made known when a high-powered delegation from the Corporation visited the country to discuss about the energy sector.

Sierra Leone Telecommunications Company Limited (Sierratel) has got five-man interim management committee to run its affairs.

The Chief of Walehun village, Kono district, Foday Tholley,  has called on government and other members of the public to help rebuild their dilapidated houses to at least basic dwellings.

His call came after outgoing Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Augustine Sahr Sheku, promised to rebuild 10 of the over 20 ramshackled houses in the village.
