Aggrieved Lawyers blame SLP, Court for AGM outcome

Aggrieved members following the fallout from the Sierra Leone Bar Association Elections in Kenema last Saturday have blamed the Court, Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the Association’s Board of Directors for failing to adhere to transparency and accountability procedures relating to the electioneering process.

This they said was clearly evident before the elections at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in the eastern provincial headquarters of Kenema.

The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Austin Demby has turned the sod for the construction of the Basic Medical Sciences Faculty at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) Kossoh Town campus, which according to him will be used for postgraduate medical studies and other related matters.

Cyber analyst cross-examined at treason trial

The 30th prosecution witness in the ongoing treason trial of Amadu Koita Makalo and 11 others was cross-examined on Monday 20th May 2024 at the High Court in Freetown focusing on his role in the police investigation of the case with particular reference how he analyzed the CCTV footage from the main gate of the Pademba Road correctional center on 26th November 2023.

Nationwide Fuel distribution starts today –­ PRA Executive Chairman

The Executive Chairman of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) Brima Baluwa Koroma has said that nationwide fuel distribution starts today and assures the public of no price increase on fuel as the government of Sierra Leone is committed to this pronouncement.

He made this statement on May 23 2024, whilst updating journalists about the agency’s commitment in addressing the fuel situation, assuring the public of enough fuel.

The Commissioner for Sierra Leone Commission on Arms and Ammunitions (SLeCAA), Binneh K. Conteh has disclosed that there are over 138 local gun manufacturers in Sierra Leone.

Binneh was speaking  at the government’s weekly press briefing hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conference room in Freetown on 21st May 20224.

Trocaire holds national multi-stakeholders engagement
