The Bo Central Business District (CBD), has been decongested by the Police, the officers  acting after series of Media engagements together with the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) to have the people doing business along certain streets, move away from sidewalks.

FBC academic staff association gets new President

The new Academic Staff Association President of Fourah Bay College (FBC), Ambrose Tiama Rogers has told Politico that while he is overwhelmed “with joy” on being elected, he is equally concerned about problems the institution is facing.

Rogers, a lecturer at the Linguistics Unit of the college, went unopposed, replacing Dr. Williette James.

IOM elects Sierra Leone’s Ambassador Gberie as Chairman

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has elected the Sierra Leone Ambassador to Geneva, Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Office, Dr. Lansana Gberie as the new Chairperson of its Bureau.

He was elected at the Council’s 113th Session on the 29th November, 2022.

CARL calls for a speedy judicial decision as Sierra Leone’s main opposition files against PR electoral system

The Executive Director of the Centre for Accountability and Rule of Law (CARL), Ibrahim Tommy, has urged the leadership of the Sierra Leone Judiciary to speedily look into the recent lawsuit filed by lawyers of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) against the Presidential directive to the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) on the issue of Proportional Representation for the sake of justice for all parties.

Sierra Leone marks World AIDS Day 2022

The Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed O. Bangura says people should stop discriminating against those affected by HIV/AIDS  because they did not buy the disease and should rather  be treated fairly.

Speaking at an event to mark World AIDS Day held in Freetown yesterday December 1, Bangura said young people should also be included in decision- making in various spheres of society.Various speakers stressed the need to end discrimination against those infected with the disease.
