United States ambassador to Sierra Leone, Michael Owen has awarded three journalists whose essays were rated the best in a World Press Day writing competition organized by the embassy.

For the first time in its 45-year history the University of Sierra Leone has centralised and digitised its admission programme. This means that for the 2012/13 academic year the University Registry will handle the application process of all applicants wishing to enrol at the university.
