UNICEF engages Sierra Leone Parliament

The UN children’s agency, UNICEF, on Tuesday engaged three parliamentary oversight committees on health, education and Social Services in the promotion of education for the girl child.UNICEF Country Representative, Roleland Monasch noted that the three oversight committees in parliament are very important in promoting and advocating on issues relating to children.

On the first allotted day for debate of president Koroma’s speech at the opening of the new parliament, the Deputy Minority Leader, Ansu Kaikai has saidthat the country “is full of uncompleted projects” and called on the president to stop awarding other contracts until existing ones “are financed and completed”.
