ACC promises to complete 50% of cases

As part of their key deliverables for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is to complete investigations of at least 50% of cases reported to the institution, according to Deputy Commissioner, Augustine Foday Ngobie at the ongoing FY2024 Policy Hearing and Bilateral Budget discussions at the Ministry of Finance in Freetown.

Cabinet Secretariat concerned over lapses

In highlighting the key challenges faced in the Fiscal Year 2023, the Cabinet Secretariat has expressed concern over the unavailability of Officers for the signing of their performance contract and the appraisals within the stipulated time.

This was contained in the Secretariat’s presentation during bilateral budget discussions for FY 2023 at the Ministry of Finance, Freetown on the 9th of October 2023.

5 Districts hold post-election dialogue

The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) with support from UN Women has held the Post Elections Dialogue in five districts in the East, North, and South of the country.

 Pujehun, Kono, Port Loko, Bombali, and Karene were the districts that participated in the latest dialogue following the June 24 General Elections in Sierra Leone.

Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh (PHD) has called on the ministry of finance to develop a pricing formula for rice and flour in order to ascertain the profit margin of the businesses.

The Vice President called on the finance ministry to do that in collaboration with the ministry of trade to avoid the persistent over pricing of the two commodities.
