Sierra Leone Parliament approves Maritime boss, 2 others

Parliament has approved Alhaji Wuroh Jalloh as the executive director of the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration, Solomon Kargbo as the new petroleum director and Isatu Kamara as the deputy commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NACSA).

MPs described Solomon Kargbo as “a hardworking young man” and vouched for his ability, experience and expertise to deliver.

Roland Foday Kargbo, MP, said he believed that the fuel crisis in the country would be minimised.

Deputy head of discipline at the Complaint Discipline and Internal Investigations Department, CDIID of the Sierra Leone police has told Politico that all officers who commit criminal offences are disciplined, dismissed and charged to court.

Pre-legislative briefing on SLPMC

Members of the legislative sub-committee in parliament Monday held a briefing with the ministry of trade and industry on the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing, SLPMC Bill 2013.

In his address the minister, Osman BoieKamara, told parliament the reasons for the need to approve the bill, adding that the draft document presented to parliament was the outcome of various cabinet conclusions.
