Man on remand for land fraud

Magistrate Mark Ngegba has remanded one Foday Kamara on the allegation of obtaining three hundred million old Leones (Le 300,000,000) from the complainant, Josephus Sallu Mannah by falsely pretending that he owned a piece of land for sale.

The prosecution alleges that on diverse dates between January 1st, 2021, and December 31, 2022, the accused obtained money from the complainant for a plot of land at Mammah Beach in the Western Area Rural District.

Man docked for illegal possession of pistol

A 33-year-old man has appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba in Freetown charged with the illegal possession of a pistol without a valid license.  

Alimamy Kargbo, nicknamed Shakur, a mobile phone mechanic of 29 Bangura Street was allegedly found in possession of a black Hellcat pistol with serial number:  BB 205218 (9X18) Springfield Armory, at the Kono Lorry Park, Waterloo.

Former Presidential Candidate of the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC) party, Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara has at the end of the Dialogue between his political party and the Government of Sierra Leone to end a post-election dispute, described the outcome as a win-win for all.

The mediation effort was facilitated by the Commonwealth, African Union, and ECOWAS from 16th to 18th October 2023, at the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown.
