UNIPSIL ‘vandalised’ Cabenda hotel

The proprietor of Cabenda hotel, Olufemi Boyle-Hebron has told journalists that the United Nation integrated Office in Sierra Leone has left his property in a state of disrepair, which he said “border on vandalism”.

His allegations come on the eve of the arrival of the United Nations Secretary General, ban Ki-Moon who jets in tonight on a one-day visit to close the UN Mission here.

Police "abandon" accident Victim

The elder brother of two accident victims in Kono has accused the police of "showing no interest" in the welfare of his siblings after they were reportedly hit two weeks ago by a police vehicle (SLP 269) belonging to Tankoro Police Division, leaving the two men aged 32 and 19 years with a broken leg and head injuries respectively.

Mines ministry probes letter leak

Following an exclusive story carried by Politico on Thursday 28 February about the reduction in tariff for diamonds apparently timed to coincide with the valuation of a US$ 6 million gem bought by Lebanese businessman, Hisham Mackie, the ministry of mines and mineral resources has started probing the source of the leak of the letter.

OSIWA launches reports on Salone

MP boosts Mammah Beach fire victims

Member of Parliament for Constituency 93 has donated 30 bundles of corrugated iron sheets to the people of Mammah Beach in the Freetown Peninsular where 21 houses were destroyed by fire in December last year.

Dauda Kallon also donated two bales of used clothing for the fire victims.
