Three persons Abubakar Fofana, Nancy Murray, and Augustine Sahr Lebbie all of Burma II section, Kenema district have been arrested and detained by the Police for fraudulently collecting monies from people in various communities around Kenema.

Based on the victim’s statements, the three suspects allegedly embarked on registering people for a fee of 5 New Leones under the name of an organization named Grassroots Movement where they are staff, promising to offer loans in return.

Thirty thousand Children under the age of five are at risk of death due to inadequate nutrition, from October 2022 to August 2023, according to the World Bank’s Sierra Leone Economic Update (SLEU) 2023.  

The report which was launched on the 27^th October 2023 explains that over three hundred thousand children under the age of five are stunted, whilst one hundred thousand are wasted.
