Public relations officer at the ministry of health, Jonathan Abass Kamara, has rated government’s success in the just concluded 3 days’ lockdown at 80% “despite the numerous challenges that surrounded it”.

Ebola suspects cry for food in Kono

Some Ebola suspected cases at the holding centre of the Koidu government hospital in Kono say they are not being fed properly and that water and medication are in short supply.

“We are being held here like condemned criminals,” some of the suspected cases told Politico.

One of them, who was brought in from Small Sefadu claimed they had not received medication and drinking water but were being fed twice daily.

OSD officer found dead in Kono

An OSD police officer attached to the Tankoro Division, Constable 15589 David Komba was found dead with his remains floating on the Woryie River at Bakundu swamp in Koidu, Kono District.

Ebola lives on in Sierra Leone - President Koroma

Despite the 3 days lockdown and sensitization process which led to discovery of many dead bodies and Ebola victims, Sierra Leone’s President, Ernest Bai Koroma has said that the Ebola Virus is still alive in the country.

Speaking on the just concluded lockdown, the president stated that the exercise had helped the government to know that people infected with the virus were still hiding, adding that that was because they had not been well educated about the disease.

Kono descendants donate to district

Diana slams Kono Diasporans

Minister of Local Government has slammed natives of Kono district who reside in the Diasporas for “persistently using social media to criticise efforts”she and vice president Samuel Sam Sumana are making.

Finda Diana Konomanyi Kabbah was addressing a hall full of paramount chiefs in Koidu town when she claimed that they were being “unfairly blamed for directly responsible for the divide and the non-development of the district”.
