Yumkella Movement supports Njala students

A political campaign group working on behalf of a prospective presidential aspirant of the opposition SLPP known as the KKY Movement last weekend donated Le 1m ain cash and food items to students residing on the campus of Njala University at Mokonde.

The group's National Coordinator of students FBC Wing, Moses Sesay, explained that the donation was a part of Dr Kandeh Yumkella’s support to students who were affected by the current Ebola outbreak particularly those coming from Kenema and Kailahun who remained on campus because they could not return to their homes.

He said that as future leaders, the students should play their part in the fight against Ebola while taking all necessary measures to protect themselves from the disease.

The University’s Chancellor, Professor Alhaji Abu Sesay, whiles thanking the KKY Movement for its gesture to the students, stated that they had in the past written several letters to different institutions and agencies in the country seeking aid for students who were residing on the campus but had received no positive reply.

He described Dr Yumkella as an "intelligent and supportive Sierra Leonean… a true son of the soil who wants to see the continuous growth and development of Sierra Leone."
