A Tribute to the Late Ing. Prince K Muzan – Ekpelu

By Dr Charles Silver

The late Eng. P K Muzan joined the Academic Staff of Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone over a decade ago.  From the onset, the entire Fourah bay College community found P K to be good example of a friendly, hardworking and God-fearing man. His relationship with his colleague lecturers as well as students was always warm and cordial. The late Eng. P K Muzan was accommodating to the extent that his home emerged as a rendezvous for his colleague lecturers and students as well.

One major attribute for which the Fourah Bay College community, the Academic Staff in particular will ever remain to remember our late colleague for, was his unimaginable humility. P K’s residence almost became an extension of the male student’s hostel.  I could still remember one instance we were at his house and the late man was busy cooking while the boys were viewing television at the parlor. A colleague who became offended by the boys’ action instructed them to join P K in the kitchen. To our greatest dismay P K’s response was "they have done own work and I am doing mine"’.  This was the kind of personality we are all missing.

As former Social Secretary of the Academic Staff Association of Fourah Bay College, P K used his professional ability as an Engineer to implement a number strategic changes in the Senior Staff Common Room. P K was a good organizer and always ready to listen to others.

The Academic Staff Association of Fourah bay College joins the Muzan – Ekpelu family as they mourn P K. P K, we loved you but God loves you most.
