A Special Tribunal which was set up to investigate the suspended Sierra Leone Auditor-General, Lara Taylor-Pearce and Deputy Auditor-General, Tamba Momoh is to commence hearing today at the main Law Courts in Freetown. The two senior members of staff were indefinitely suspended by President Julius Maada Bio in November 2021 for alleged misconduct by Audit Service Sierra Leone.
The Tribunal Committee earlier in a press statement dated 14th March 2022 confirmed this Thursday 17th March 2022 as date for start of proceedings.
On the 17th November 2021, the president through consultations with the Judicial and Legal Service Commission ensured the setting up of the tribunal to investigate Taylor-Pearce and Momoh for alleged “misconduct and lack of professional performance” in the course of their duties.
The president appointed Justice Nyawo Matturi-Jones as Chairperson and Justice Ivan Sesay and Lahai Momoh Farmah Esq. as members of the tribunal. According to the notice, the two professional auditors are expected to attend the hearing.
