Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has sent a cable message expressing condolences to all those affected by the Wellington fuel tanker explosion that claimed many lives, and left scores injured.
The Information Attaché at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Riyadh, Abubakar Bah in a press release said the Saudi King expressed deep sympathy to President Julius Maada Bio, families of the victims and the people of Sierra Leone for the tragic incident, which occurred on Friday 5th November, 2021.
Also Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, also sent cable of condolences and sympathy to President Bio, the families of the deceased and all Sierra Leoneans, Bah stated.
He said since the tragedy tributes have been pouring in from Diplomatic Missions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ambassadors/Representatives of the Republic of South Africa, Gambia, Algeria, United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Peru and Turkey have also joined others in signing the Book of Condolence. Portugal, South Korea, Indonesia, Yemen, Poland, Egypt, Djibouti, Germany, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Nigeria, Guinea and Cameroon are the other countries that have so far signed the Book of Condolence, which was opened at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday 9th November, 2021.
