SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (27/11/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.08% and 0.05% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (2.16%), Burkina Faso (0.84%), Cape Verde (2.17%), Ivory Coast (0.09%), Ghana (0.56%), Guinea (0.84%), Liberia (1.74%), Mali (3.12%), Niger (2.75%), Nigeria (0.55%), Senegal (0.19%), Togo (1.23%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.41%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.67%), Africa (1.30%), Europe (2.79%), North America (2.70%), South America (1.13%), Asia (1.37%) and World (2.03%). However, increase in total cases was lower in Gambia (0.03%) compared to Sierra Leone. Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total cases.

Europe (3.25%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Guinea (1.33%), Liberia (1.22%), Mali (1.37%), Nigeria (0.09%), Senegal (0.30%), MRU (0.55%), ECOWAS (0.21%), Africa (1.32%), North America (3.25%), South America (1.67%), Asia (0.78%) and the World (1.25%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Niger, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (0.59%), Cape Verde (1.11%), Ivory Coast (0.12%), Gambia (0.14%), Ghana (1.06%), Guinea (0.58%), Liberia (1.68%), Mali (0.53%), Niger (0.34%), Nigeria (0.40%), Senegal (0.15%), Togo (2.02%), MRU (0.29%), ECOWAS (0.58%), Africa (1.36%), Europe (4.61%), North America (3.12%), South America (1.10%), Asia (1.20%) and the World (2.13%). Benin and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
