SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (25/11/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.29% and 0.05% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (2.53%), Cape Verde (1.48%), Gambia (0.54%), Ghana (0.61%), Guinea (0.77%), Mali (3.77%), Niger (3.06%), Nigeria (0.69%), Senegal (0.31%), Togo (2.07%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.41%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.73%), Africa (1.79%), Europe (3.93%), North America (3.86%), South America (1.13%), Asia (2.00%) and World (2.80%). However, increase in total cases was lower in Ivory Coast (0.23%) and Guinea-Bissau (0.04%) compared to Sierra Leone. Benin and Liberia recorded zero increase in total cases.

Europe (3.31%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Ivory Coast (1.55%), Gambia (0.82%), Mali (2.10%), Nigeria (0.26%), MRU (0.56%), ECOWAS (0.32%), Africa (1.79%), North America (1.25%), South America (0.70%), Asia (1.86%) and the World (1.78%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (3.07%), Cape Verde (1.71%), Ivory Coast (0.34%), Gambia (0.11%), Ghana (1.01%), Guinea (0.54%), Guinea-Bissau (1.01%), Mali (1.37%), Niger (0.87%), Nigeria (0.74%), Senegal (0.41%), Togo (5.87%), MRU (0.38%), ECOWAS (0.85%), Africa (1.85%), Europe (6.66%), North America (3.03%), South America (0.91%), Asia (2.03%) and the World (2.65%). Benin and Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
