SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (19/02/21)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.05% and 0.19% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (2.06%), Burkina Faso (0.36%), Cape Verde (0.59%), Ivory Coast (0.84%), Gambia (1.25%), Ghana (2.33%), Guinea (0.81%), Guinea-Bissau (2.56%), Mali (0.26%), Niger (0.28%), Nigeria (1.66%), Senegal (1.59%), Togo (2.13%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.74%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.54%), Africa (0.63%), Europe (0.86%), North America (0.53%), South America (0.92%), Asia (0.57%) and the world (0.70%). Liberia recorded zero increase in total cases.

Benin (4.84%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (1.44%), Ivory Coast (2.86%), Ghana (4.24%), Niger (0.59%), Nigeria (1.48%), Senegal (1.99%), MRU (1.18%), ECOWAS (1.63%), Africa (0.88%), Europe (1.18%), North America (0.98%), South America (0.80%), Asia (0.46%) and the world (0.92%). Burkina Faso, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (4.02%), Burkina Faso (0.30%), Cape Verde (0.69%), Ivory Coast (1.00%), Gambia (0.28%), Ghana (2.46%), Guinea (0.52%), Guinea-Bissau (0.73%), Liberia (1.36%), Mali (0.76%), Niger (0.91%), Nigeria (2.21%), Senegal (1.79%), Togo (2.78%), MRU (0.83%), ECOWAS (1.83%), Africa (0.87%), Europe (1.62%), North America (1.28%), South America (1.19%), Asia (0.59%), and the world (1.15%).
