SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (09/12/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.33% and 0.22% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (0.59%), Burkina Faso (7.25%), Cape Verde (0.93%), Ivory Coast (0.44%), Ghana (0.34%), Guinea (0.59%), Mali (7.13%), Niger (9.73%), Nigeria (1.48%), Senegal (1.57%), Togo (1.97%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.47%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.23%), Africa (1.74%), Europe (2.60%), North America (3.84%), South America (1.27%), Asia (2.01%) and World (2.50%). Increase in total cases was lower in Gambia (0.05%) and Guinea-Bissau (0.12%) compared to Sierra Leone. Liberia recorded zero increase in total cases.

Mali (7.36%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (0.93%), Guinea (3.95%), Niger (1.30%), Nigeria (0.17%), Senegal (1.19%), MRU (0.82%), ECOWAS (0.79%), Africa (1.58%), Europe (2.48%), North America (1.56%), South America (0.82%), Asia (1.50%) and the World (1.64%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (0.52%), Burkina Faso (1.27%), Cape Verde (1.71%), Ivory Coast (0.46%), Ghana (0.27%), Guinea (1.59%), Guinea-Bissau (0.43%), Mali (2.12%), Nigeria (0.74%), Senegal (0.63%), Togo (3.00%), MRU (0.81%), ECOWAS (0.71%), Africa (1.62%), Europe (4.23%), North America (3.64%), South America (1.19%), Asia (1.94%) and the World (2.54%). Increase in total recoveries was lower in Gambia (0.06%) and Niger (0.16%) compared to Sierra Leone. Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
