Sierra Leone recorded 0.17% and 0.11% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Thursday (10:00 am) to Saturday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (0.91%), Cape Verde (1.89%), Ghana (0.30%), Guinea (0.26%), Liberia (0.28%), Mali (1.33%), Niger (0.41%), Nigeria (0.64%), Togo (2.37%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.49%), Africa (1.48%), Europe (5.61%), North America (2.45%), South America (0.99%), Asia (1.41%) and World (2.53%). However, increase in total cases was lower in Ivory Coast (0.11%) and Gambia (0.11%) compared to Sierra Leone. Increase in total cases in Senegal (0.17%) and Manor River Union or MRU (0.17%) was the same as Sierra Leone. Benin and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total cases.
Cape Verde (5.26%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Gambia (0.83%), ECOWAS (0.22%), Africa (1.20%), Europe (2.87%), North America (1.04%), South America (0.74%), Asia (1.29%) and the World (1.44%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo and MRU recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (0.45%), Burkina Faso (2.03%), Cape Verde (1.74%), Ivory Coast (0.15%), Gambia (0.66%), Ghana (0.16%), Guinea (0.50%), Liberia (0.69%), Mali (0.93%), Nigeria (0.28%), Senegal (0.32%), Togo (1.24%), MRU (0.27%), ECOWAS (0.36%), Africa (4.20%), Europe (4.19%), North America (1.57%), South America (0.58%), Asia (1.42%) and the World (1.68%). Increase in total recoveries in Niger (0.09%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
