SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (06/11/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.13% and 0.17% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (2.30%), Burkina Faso (0.87%), Cape Verde (1.93%), Gambia (0.22%), Ghana (0.92%), Guinea (0.97%), Liberia (0.14%), Mali (1.01%), Niger (0.25%), Nigeria (0.46%), Togo (1.65%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.40%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.65%), Africa (1.38%), Europe (5.31%), North America (2.28%), South America (0.88%), Asia (1.39%) and World (2.37%). However, increase in total cases was lower in Ivory Coast (0.12%), Guinea-Bissau (0.04%) and Senegal (0.08%) compared to Sierra Leone.

Benin (4.88%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Gambia (0.84%), Guinea-Bissau (2.44%), Mali (0.74%), Nigeria (0.70%), Senegal (0.31%), ECOWAS (0.51%), Africa (1.27%), Europe (3.43%), North America (1.20%), South America (0.79%), Asia (1.34%) and the World (1.63%). Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Niger, Sierra Leone, Togo and MRU recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (1.67%), Cape Verde (1.36%), Ivory Coast (0.18%), Gambia (9.64%), Ghana (0.39%), Guinea (0.92%), Guinea-Bissau (2.42%), Liberia (1.40%), Mali (0.79%), Nigeria (0.58%), Senegal (1.24%), Togo (1.07%), MRU (0.46%), ECOWAS (0.79%), Africa (1.11%), Europe (4.30%), North America (1.90%), South America (1.50%), Asia (1.48%) and the World (1.89%). Increase in total recoveries in Niger (0.09%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
