SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (04/12/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.17% and 0.11% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (1.33%), Burkina Faso (4.30%), Cape Verde (0.99%), Ivory Coast (0.14%), Gambia (0.61%), Guinea (0.18%), Mali (2.70%), Niger (5.94%), Nigeria (0.60%), Senegal (0.52%), Togo (1.34%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.15%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.53%), Africa (1.24%), Europe (2.31%), North America (2.69%), South America (1.30%), Asia (1.50%) and World (1.98%). Ghana, Guinea-Bissau and Liberia recorded zero increase in total cases.

Niger (5.56%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Benin (2.33%), Cape Verde (0.95%), Mali (3.21%), Nigeria (0.34%), Senegal (0.30%), Togo (1.56%), ECOWAS (0.59%), Africa (1.13%), Europe (2.94%), North America (1.82%), South America (0.75%), Asia (1.15%) and the World (1.73%). Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and MRU recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (2.85%), Cape Verde (0.90%), Ivory Coast (0.22%), Gambia (0.22%), Guinea (0.90%), Mali (1.78%), Niger (1.40%), Nigeria (0.88%), Senegal (0.32%), Togo (2.62%), MRU (0.43%), ECOWAS (0.56%), Africa (1.25%), Europe (4.78%), North America (2.70%), South America (1.35%), Asia (1.25%) and the World (2.18%). Benin, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau and Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
