A magistrate court, sitting in the southern district town of Pujehun, has committed for trial in the high court in Bo two cases of sexual offences ranging from rape and sexual penetration and one on larceny.
Magistrate George Edwin said Kamanda Massaquoi, who told the police that he was 16 years old, had a case to answer to in the high court on one count charge of rape, contrary to section six of the sexual offences Act of 2012 being his instrument.
The boy allegedly committed the offence against a 75-year old woman, early this year, in the Makpele chiefdom in Pujehun district, some 27 miles to the Mano River Border, and 42 miles to the district headquarter town of Pujehun.
The case of sexual penetration involving Mohamed Kutay against a 15 year old girl was also committed to the same high court on one count charge of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the sexual offences Act No.12 of 2012.
Both perpetuators of the sexual offences were granted bail in the sum of Le15m and one surety in like sum.
The third case, involving Mohamed Dabeni, accused of involvement in house breaking and larceny, was also committed to the high court in Bo.
He was allegedly caught on the height of breaking into the premises of OC Almamy Kamara, in charge of the Pujehun correctional centre.
