As the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) boss recently announced dates for the 2023 General Elections, major political parties in Sierra Leone are bracing up to ensure that they conduct both their lower level and national delegates conferences before the campaign period can be officially declared.
The Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) in turn is actively working towards ensuring that standards are set on which political parties to abide by, before going into the 2023 General Elections.
The Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), has already targeted the Leadership, members, and supporters of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) party informing them and the general public that the commission has published the Final Draft of their Rules and Regulations in the Sierra Leone Gazette vol. CXLXIII No. 12 of Wednesday 9th March 2022 for fourteen working days. It says the publication is for the period ending the 29th March 2022. The notice further stated that the Published Rules and Regulations of the NGC shall become operational effective 30th March 2022.
The PPRC ended the notice by appreciating the leadership, members, and supporters of the NGC, the objectors, and the general public for the patience and understanding exhibited throughout the process.
It could be recalled that sometime this month; the PPRC has also gazetted and published the All Peoples Congress (APC) party constitution which will be effective on the 25th March 2022.
