"We are investigating the death of Bockarie Sahr Nyuma. We are investigating one man who claimed to be a military officer. The other person the investigation has pointed to is on the run", Constable Mansaray said.
We are told four people are part of the alleged murder. We are still looking for the others", Mansaray stated.
Police media officer said Melvin Paul Soya has denied the allegation, noting that someone knocked at his gate and when he opened he was told of the death of Bockarie Sahr Nyuma.
He concluded that the police are calling on the public to bring information concerning the death of Nyuma, adding that the corpse will be taken to Freetown on Monday, 9 October 2023.
A family member (not named) said the deceased was with them for the rest of the day, and later decided to go to Shellmingo where his father resides.
" He sometimes leaves us to go to his friends around Shellmingo. They were playing football on Tuesday. At night we couldn't see Bockarie (Nyuma)at home. The late man was living with us at the Kowama extension", he said.
He said the deceased was to enrol in University the next academic year.
" He was murdered according to what we saw when we went to the scene on Wednesday morning upon being told that our brother was dead and his body was at the Manjama garbage dump site. At the time we arrived, we met police officers there who then took the corpse to the Bo Morgue.
He said as a family, they do not know who killed their brother, therefore they rely on the public and police to help arrest those involved.
“We are seeking for justice. We don't have money. This is bad for us as a family. We want the law to work and the perpetrators to face the music" he concluded.
