Police investigate Big Sister

By Saio Marrah

Following the last eviction of participants in the reality Tv  Big Sister show on Sunday 14th November this year, that saw large crowds at the  location which caused huge traffic jam that stretched for miles along the Juba to Goderich routes, Police had to take in the organizers for interrogation.

According to the Head of Regional Command, Freetown West, Commissioner Victor Manfred Williams, told journalists at the weekly Police Press Briefing at their headquarters in Freetown, on Thursday 18th October, 2021, that arrests were made because they obstructed traffic.

“Last Sunday there was traffic hold up for hours at Levuma Beach. It has to do with the Big Sister Show wherein those who were evicted were being taken to a location and the location they chose was not ideal for that situation. Thus they created traffic obstruction which caused a lot of people not to go home on time. So we had to go to that location, get the crowd off and make sure the traffic was uninterrupted”, he said.

He added: “We arrested the organizers for that obstruction and disorderly behavour.  Their matter is already before the DPP (Director of Public Prosecution) for advice.”  The names of those arrested were not given to journalists.

It was also disclosed that on the same Sunday, the lifeless body of a 14 old boy was found.  Ibrahim Bangura of 10 Juba Hill and a Junior Secondary Pupil of the Lady Patricia Kabba School was suspected to have drowned. The body was taken to the mortuary for post-mortem.
