The highest goal scorer in the just concluded Sierra Leone Premier League, Musa Noah Kamara (Tombo), has been dropped from the home based squad by Coach Francis ‘Zappa’ Koroma ahead of a double header against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in the 2022 CHAN Qualifiers.
Just recently, Tombo was spotted playing mini league football whiles his colleagues were training in the provinces in preparation for their CHAN qualifiers against Cape Verde in Morocco. His football club, Bo Rangers has recently issued a press statement citing social media posts on alleged seizure of his passport by the Team’s Chairman which they vehemently denied.
However, Tombo’s wife, Hawa on a social media video said her husband refused to train with the team because he was traumatized for the ‘seizure’ of his passport while he wanted to travel to a club in South Africa to secure a contract. She argued that Tombo was never dropped from the squad and that he had personally refused to travel with the squad due to the passport saga. His club Bo Rangers have distanced themselves from claims being made on social media on behalf of the media.
The player has been dogged with controversies over the years. He terminated two lucrative contracts abroad on strange excuses and returned to Sierra Leone.
