According to the particulars of offence, the young lady was said to have murdered her 3-year-old son on the 22nd August, 2017 in the Western Area of Sierra Leone.

During preliminary investigations at the Magistrate Court, Inspector I.G. Fofanah led in witnesses who testified against the mother.
One of the witnesses, a community teacher said that he knew the accused well. The man said he arrived at the suspected crime scene where the woman killed the child by throwing him into the river.
The witness said that when he asked the accused for her child, she took him to the river where she admitted to have carried the hideous crime.
The teacher said that he was at the scene when the boy’s body was recovered from the river.
According to the evidence in the preliminary investigation, Mansaray said her act was due to ill-treatment she received from her husband.
Magistrate Santigie Bangura, in his ruling at the time, said that the offence was ‘felonious’.
He stated that the evidence showed the accused was seriously connected with the charge and had found enough evidence to commit the matter for trial at the High Court on the 25th June 2018.
