A man believed to be in his mid-20s has been electrocuted around the PZ business area in central Freetown.
Musa Kamara met his untimely death at around 2:00 pm yesterday.
An eye-witness told Politico that they had gone together for the Zhurr prayer at 2 pm at the back of Super Snap Photo Studios at PZ. “I finished the prayer before him so I left him behind”, Alhaji Jalloh explained.
He said shortly after he got to his business place a woman came and told him that his brother had been killed by current.
“I ran to the scene and met him struggling with the current but it was too late for me to rescue him”, he said.
Jalloh, however, refused to comment on rumours that the place was electrified to prevent people from praying at that particular place but said the owner of the place called the national power authority, NPA, immediately after the terrible situation.
Until his death Musa traded in black market foreign currencies.
His remains have been taken to central morgue at Connaught hospital while the matter has been reported to the police.
