Following a brief but publicly acrimonious banter between the two journalists and lawyers have decided to bury the hatchet.
A joint press release from the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) and the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA) says the two organisations' executives met on Tuesday "to discuss issues of common interest, and ways of future cooperation".
The meeting came in the back of recent press release issued by the Bar and the response from SLAJ which engender a frosty relation between the two. The release says the issue was "discussed and amicably ironed out" and two bodies agreed to put all their differences behind them and "work together in their mutual interest and for the common good of the country".
The discussed and agreed to continue issues on the criminal and seditious libel law, bail bond policy and training on reporting on legal issues.
"The Bar Association has been supportive of SLAJ in the past and we look forward to a more amicable relationship now and in the future" SLAJ President Kelvin Lewis is quoted as saying. While the President of the Bar Association, Elvis Kargbo said "it is necessary for SLAJ and the Bar Association to foster a good working relationship in the interest of all Sierra Leoneans."
