Our former Deputy Editor, Mohamed Jaward Nyallay recently won the Independent Media Commission Award for the best political reporting in Politico newspaper for 2020. He was also crowned winner in another category - Environmental reporting for the same period.
With a niche in sports reporting, Nyallay also won the 2019 National Entertainment Award as the best Sports Journalist for the year, making him one of the most versatile young journalists in Sierra Leone. The management and staff of Free Media Group, publishers of Politico newspaper describe Nyallay as “a promising young professional with a bright future”.
He recently left Politico to work with the newly established Epic Radio in Freetown and is a presenter of the Epic Morning show, a programme that has been steadily gaining popularity.
