President Julius Maada will take centre stage at the first ever Presidential Town Hall engagement to be held in Sierra Leone. The event to take place at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown has generated an unprecedented level of public interest that would see Bio as sitting president respond to questions that have been sent in by people in Sierra Leone and from around the world . The clusters from which questions would be drawn include the Economy, Human Capital Development and Law and Order. The event is expected to assess the 3 year stewardship of president Bio who was sworn into office on the 4th April 2018 following his victory in a run-off election.
Free Quality Education his flagship programme which is certain to be integral in the debate has accentuated a rise in the number of children enrolling for primary and secondary education. This is largely due to the cancellation of school fees and the free supply of four core text books and exercise books to pupils in government run or assisted schools. The President in the last couple of days has gone to a number of radio and TV Stations in the capital for live interviews, also an unprecedented action by a sitting head of state.
Over the past few weeks Bio has gone to the remotest of places upcountry and interacted with the people, highlighting his government’s plans to improve service delivery.
The Presidential Town Hall themed “3 years of the Bio Presidency” is being organised by SierraEye magazine in collaboration with the Institue for Legal Research and Advocacy for Justice (ILRAJ)
