A 16 year old child who state prosecutors say was sexually penetrated by one Manso Kamara has testified before Justice Momoh Jah Stevens at the sexual offenses division of the High Court in Freetown.
In her testimony, the witness recalled that on the 23rd of March 2020, she returned from school and went to meet her mother Assiatu Boima at a hospital in the Ojuku community. She said her mother then sent her to go and collect a wall paper from one Lamrana alias Olano who in turn sent her with his driver (the accused) to go and get the item from a shop at New Site, Mayemi.
‘‘When we got there, I gave the accused the key and he opened the door and the two of us entered. So as I took the item from the shelf, he drew me from my back, grabbed me and threw me to the ground and grabbed my mouth. He lifted my uniform, tore my boxer’s and my pants and climbed on top of me and put his penis in my vagina and had sex with me,’’ she explained.
She added that the accused threatened to kill her if she shouted during the abuse, adding that she told the wife of the Landlord what had happened but that she also warned her against telling anyone.
The witness said she went weeping to her mother and explained what had happened and she took her to the police station to make report following which a statement was obtained from her and she was referred to the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital for examination.
Under cross examination, the witness said she walked together with the accused to the shop where the accused had sex with her.
State prosecutor, lawyer Jenneh B. Kamara’s application for the accused person to be tried by a judge alone was granted by the judge.
The matter was adjourned to the 19th August 2020.
