Africell transition into Leones billing was a success

Africell’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Joe Abass Bangura statement has come to pass. He promised last week that they will comply with the regulations of the National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) to change their billing system from units to Leones.

The process which was announced to their subscribers at a press conference on Wednesday 11th February 2015 came into effect on Sunday 15th February 2015 without any technical hitch in its network system.

According to Tommy Terry Coker, Africell Head of Section Print Media, the transition process went smoothly without any network breakdown the process was well organsied, and we are yet to receive any complaint of malpractice with subscribers units being converted to leones, as no credit loss has been reported said Coker.

Joe Abass Bangura assured subscribers of their collaborative work with the relevant authorities in improving the telecoms sector in the country.

He, however, revealed that in consultation with the national telecoms regulatory body and the line ministry they agreed to change their billing system from units to Leones.

The change has been made by our dedicated staff as they worked very hard to see that the leones billing comes into effect as we promised, he said, pointing out that staff working at their call center number 111 will be ready to take all queries from their valued subscribers.

Joe Abass Bangura maintained that Africell would continue to play a leading role in the fight to get to zero new Ebola infections in the country.

We look forward to a healthy post Ebola Sierra Leone. Africell expects to take the lead in being a model of exemplary corporate citizenship in Sierra Leone,  he promised.
