African Youth Championship…tough tie for Shooting Stars

By Kemoh Sesay

The Under 20 national football team of Sierra Leone, Shooting Stars will host their  Ghanaian counterparts, Black Satellite at the newly constructed four thousand seater stadium in the southern provincial town of Bo this weekend.

The Head Coach of Shooting Stars Alimamy Kayfoot Turay told Politico he will take a "normal approach" to the game even against the Ghanaians whom he described as a "strong and technical team". He said his last encounter with Guinea should set the tone for the coming game. Turay said his boys were not ready to give away any chances until they qualify for 2015.

Asked what he knew about his opponents, the coach described Ghana as "one of the power houses in youth football in Africa, who've won the U-20 World Cup and African titles as well...it's not going to be an easy encounter for us but, I hope we will eliminate them".

The Black Satellite have participated in only six of the last 19 World Cup events starting in Australia 1993 were they lost to Brazil 2-1.

Shooting Stars eliminated Guinea in the preliminary stages, between them at home and away.
