Justice Alusine Sesay has sentenced one Pa Sorie Sesay, 41, and Abdulai Kamara, 22, to five years imprisonment each for stealing a steel door that belongs to one Fatmata Fofanah.

The two men were said to have broken into a store in Waterloo and stolen the said steel door which is worth the sum of one million, two hundred thousand Leones (Le 1,200,000) in November, last year.

The Supreme Court Judge convicted and sentenced both men on Tuesday during the 21st September Criminal Session this year after they pleaded guilty to the crime of store breaking and Larceny contrary to the Larceny Act of 1916.

Morrison Karimu from Legal Aid pleaded with the judge to temper justice with mercy. He informed the judge that both men have not wasted the court’s time. He added that the two are family men. He reckoned that the first accused has two children and the second with one.

State Prosecutor, Joseph A. K. Sesay responded to the judge that both men have been incarcerated since the 14th of January this year.

The Judge convicted both accused of the said crime while noting that both men have not wasted the court’s time and the said men have families. He also ordered that the steel door in question be returned to the victim.
