The Bo Government Secondary School is mourning the loss of one of their former principals, Raymond Bob Katta who died in Maryland, USA.
The current Vice Principal of the school told Politico that the school was “shocked to receive the news of the former principal’s death. Michael Kosia said the late Principal implemented a lot of transformational policies during his time in the school resulting in pupils in the school doing well in public exams. Kosia said the late man also spearheaded the planting of trees to beautify the school campus and described him as “a good administrator and a brilliant writer…as a school we will continue to miss one of the outstanding principals of Bo School”.
The late man was born at Jopowahun village, Valuania chiefdom, Bo district and attended the Koyeima Government Secondary School before proceeding to the Bo School.
After completing university education, the late Raymond Bob Katta joined the history department of the then Milton Margai Teachers College rising to the rank of a senior lecturer. He became principal of Bo School in the 2000/2001 academic year and left in 2010 to take up appointment as a deputy assistant registrar of Njala University.
