Former Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh has testified in a Bo court against his former errand boy Baba Kamara who was facing various charges related to fraudulent conversion.
He said he has known Kamara since the year 2000 and that the accused did his errands.
He said he bought a house at Third Street in Bo at a cost of Eighty million Leones (80,000,000.00) and was making part payments.
He told the court that Kamara took away his house chairs, motorbike, and televisions.
Prosecution Witness Two (PW2) Police Sergeant. Mohamed Ali Conteh told the court that on 11 December 2018 he was on duty at the Regional Police Station in Bo when one Inspector Aruna a personal Security to Foh brought a complaint on behalf of the former vice president. He said he obtained a statement from the complaint and then on 27 March 2019 got a voluntary and cautioned statement as well from the accused.
The lawyer for the accused Monya Sheriff objected that the signature on the statement was not that of his client. He said that the person who testified at the lower court had stated that the accused was not at the house when the police went with a search warrant.
He furthered that a bike was found with the accused during the investigation.
The officer denied the defense lawyer’s assertion that he could have been biased in his work just because the former vice president was connected to the matter, and said he did his job professionally.
A motorbike and beach chair were taken to the courtroom which sergeant Conteh identified.
The matter was prosecuted by State Counsel Augustine Sheku.
The matter was adjourned to Tuesday, 22 March 2022.
