The journalism fraternity in Sierra Leone will begin a two day Annual General Meeting (AGM) today in Bo city. Hundreds of journalists from various media houses across the country will deliberate on issues related to the furtherance of the profession. The theme for this year’s AGM is “Looking Inwards, Looking Outwards: Toward a Strong, Accountable and United SLAJ, and a Free and Professional Media”. The event will coincide with the Golden Jubilee of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) which is the parent body for practising media figures in the country. Representatives of subsidiary media groups such as Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL), Reporters Union and the Sports Writer Association (SWASAL) are all attending the AGM which will end tomorrow Saturday. SLAJ’s President Ahmed Nasrallah will address the session.
