The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE) has in a press statement announced the postponement of the National Primary School Examination to Friday, May 28 this year.
The earlier announced date for the primary school leaving examination was for May 14th. But the postponement according to the statement is due to the observation of the Ramadan Month by the Muslim population which is expected to end by mid of May 2021.
This two weeks shift in time according to the statement will allow the pupils and teachers more time to do revision and be better prepared to take the examination.
“The two weeks extension will also provide opportunities for further revision by the candidates and teachers who are required to continue with preparations in schools for the examination,” the statement reads.
The statement noted that the list for examination centers by chiefdoms will be published before the slated examination date.
It also assured that the government will provide all candidates of the examination with items necessary for the examination such as 2B Pencil, Sharpener and Eraser.
