Parliament approves 3 presidential nominees

Sierra Leone’s Parliament has unanimously approved three presidential nominees to different missions abroad.

Ynonne Alexander King is the Deputy High Commissioner to Great Britain and Northern Ireland, while Jonathan Saffa was approved as Deputy Ambassador to the Republic of Liberia and Atumane Denkeh as ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The three nominees, one female and two males, were approved on the 16th November, 2020.

Ms King is a professional accountant with exclusive corporate and multimedia, finance and management background. She was an advertiser, designer and marketing communication specialist with over three decades serving notable organizations like the A L G Pack and Integrated Marketing Communication and Packaging Designing agency in the United Kingdom, Australia and United States. She served as manager and printing expert at Muriel Corporation and other financial institutions in the United Kingdom and beyond. She also served as auditory cadet in the Sierra Leone Army in the 70s and she was also a printing and event manager in the army.

Mr Denkeh is a specialist in public health. In 1998, he earned a degree with honors in public health studies from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. In 2000 he got a masters of Science in public health studies from the University of Greenwich, UK. He would later study law.

Mr Saffa is a human rights activist and has worked with United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and Action Aid. He is a graduate from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
