David Vandi alias Lahai who is facing a one-count indictment for sexual penetration has been arraigned before Justice Momoh Jah Stevens at the sexual offenses division of the High Court in Freetown and remanded in custody.
According to the prosecution the accused, on the 17th May 2020, in the Western Area of Freetown, sexually penetrated a minor under the age of 18.
Prosecution witness Sergeant 10443 Isatu Kamara, attached to the Family Support Unit of the of the Rokel Police post recognized the accused and recalled that she was on duty on the 17th May when the matter was reported.
Defense Lawyer E. T Koroma’s application for his client to be admitted to bail was denied.
The matter was adjourned to the 19th August 2020.
